Breeders of quality black, chocolate & yellow labradors

History

As a child, we had no pets in our home but in the school holidays, I would help in a boarding kennels (mainly for the money!). However, I developed a great love of dogs, and Labradors in particular. When I married (over 39 years ago), and stayed at home, we bought 2 beautiful yellow Labradors as companions for me. I was mainly interested in obedience at that time but did breed a couple of litters from them We then bought a chocolate bitch (Glosmere Chocolate Box), Bella. Chocolates were quite rare in those days and very few appeared in the showring. Bella was mated to Sh.Ch. Thor’s Lightning Boy (Crufts Best of Breed winner) and we kept 3 out of that litter (a chocolate dog and black bitch for showing, and a chocolate bitch for obedience. That was over 30 years ago, and we are now on our 15th generation of the same line.
I have been showing now for over 30 years, judging for 27 years, and to date have judged over 300 classes of Labradors.

Glosmere Labradors are now in America, Columbia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Belgium. We have provided foundation bitches for several kennels, including Lougin, Llanstinan, Jimdi, and Braithwell.
